I'm Hannah, and I live in Denver, CO.

I work for a car rental place moving cars around all day and recently drove my first 2010+ Ford Taurus, specifically a 2013 SEL.

WOW! I actually fell in love with a car other than the mustang.

It's only glaring deficiency is that worthless automatic transmission. Yes, I said worthless. I'm one of the few who actually still like to push in a clutch, grab the shifter and manually shift gears...makes it more fun. I am probably in the minority, but I'm the type I have to have my cake, my icing and get to eat it too.

As soon as I can buy a 2010+ Taurus, I will.

But I'm going to dare to do the improbable.

I'm going to put a manual transmission in it.

I'm thinking the 6 speed manual transmission from the fusion would work. have a custom bellhousing fabricated and put in the clutch pedal assembly.

There's enough people out there who have custom fabricated stuff, I don't see why this can't be done, although I have yet to see anyone do it.

I will be doing my research though.

Welcome, Hannah! Heck of a project you have set your sights on, and best of luck with it. It WOULD be nice to see a 5 or 6 speed manual mated to a late model engine!

welcome aboard. I would love to see your hot rod after you make it a manual.

Welcome, you'll fit in well if you're already hating automatics. Well, at least with 90% of the older crowd.

thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Welcome and chose a tranny that can handle the HP of a SHO not a Fusion.

once my thread is approved by the mods, I'll be discussing recommendations for this in Gen 4 Discussion area.

it's going to take some research and planning and some modifications, but I believe I can get it done. ;)
