Hi, folks! I purchased an 89 SHO with MTX to fix up and have a little fun with. I work in a antique auto restoration shop called Honest Charley Garage an entity of Honest Charley Speed Shop and Coker Tire.
Most of my cars are OLD so I'm a little out of my element working on cars with square headlights. Anyway, I bought my SHO with a broken tranny and an extra motor and tranny with it, but just found out the extra tranny's case is broke in the same place as the one originally in the car, after taking it apart it looks as though it broke a pin in the differential. Just My Luck!!
So now I'm in search of a tranny. Guess it's time to try out the Wanted forum now.

Welcome, Jonathan, glad to have you and your '89 SHO onboard! I hear a lot of good things about Honest Charley Garage, and would love to see some of your/your company's work Too bad about the transmission, definitely look for one in the For Sale section or put up a WTB ad. That differential pin issue is way too common, though there is a fix for it if done preemptively.

As far as the trans goes, you will want to post in the WTB here on the forum, and we have a Facebook page setup just for SHO parts. Search "SHO marketplace" on FB and you will find it.

I do not have any extra transmissions in my collection of parts unfortunately. Best bet would be to post in the want to buy section on the forum or use the Facebook marketplace.

I have a couple transmission cases, and a differential, but the best bet would be to find a good, whole transmission.

My grandparents live in Hixson, and I pass that car whenever I am in town.My dad will be in Hixson with his white 95 SHO today and this weekend. There are quite a few 2nd gen SHOs in the Hixson area.

Well, I got a good used tranny from SHOheaven on Thursday, got the transmission in that night and finished Friday morning. The car runs like like a bat out of ****! Thanks for all your help guys!

Syclone_sho, were you at the tidewater bbq in september? I was driving the paintless black sho. I see a silver sho frequently driving near the mall I work at and a red sho parked in the bi-lo parking lot up hixson pike. Are either of those your grandparents?
