So I had to pull my bumper to replace my windshield washer pump and decided while I had it apart I was going to go ahead and replace my grille, which had been beat up, was peeling chrome and missing black paint in the mesh.

Called Rod Smith, he was 4 months out on a new mold. Looked up a few online and didn't really care for them so I decided to just make my own.

Sanded the shit out of the chrome, 4 coats of primer, 5 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear with wet sanding and you have the finished product. I used the XXL hexagon mesh from customcargrills.com, ordered the 12x48 sheet and cut to size.

I keep going back and forth on whether to add an emblem, but so far I like it a lot.

I think next I'm going to cut out the lower mesh and replace with the same material and paint that strip, then do a chrome delete on the rest of the car.

You have more projects going on than anyone I think ....looking forward to seeing this done as well
Yeah Ways to many but if I only do one then I'll be bored doing the same thing like to switch it up. Plus trying to keep myself busy after being stranded in the house for 2 to 3 weeks

Looks great! Nice job!

I'm sold you and SM have me wanting to debadge mine as well. Curious if you thought about doing the bottom grill in that mesh and delete that chrome as well to match? Think that's the route I will go.

I have all my chrome paint matched and I really thought the mischange top and bottom grill would bother me...but it doesn't. I love how it looks. I am glad Lee did it because it made me do mine.
