I think it looks good. One question though... why would you run stock struts with this setup? I would think if you upgraded the struts to something a little better it would take a lot of the bounce out of the ride. As Sam said that lip looks sweet. How did you make it? I'd love to see some more pics! Oh, and welcome to the forum!

It's pretty bouncy. And yes I'm getting adapters and running stretch. Original plan was 16 x11 with 225/55. But now I'm leaning toward 17x10-11.

lol

Your going to run in to huge problems.

This is how a 17x9 sits on a SHO.

danvillefeb11055.jpg

That wheel is running a 23mm Offset (On 275 tires). I have to run the 23mm Offset or the wheel/tire will hit the strut. Imagine how far a 17x10-11 (That are already on Adapters) will stick out. To make things even worse, Your going to literally have to cut off the rear fenders of your generation 1 to get it to fit as there is no way they will "tuck", even if you roll the fenders.

To make things even worse, running your stock struts on sleeves...well, Once you did manage to fit that stretched tire on a 17x10-11 wheel your going to have to raise the car up just to even drive it, as with it sitting at anything that resembles low, you are going to scrape the tire on the fender on anything that resembles a dip, bump or maybe even a turn in the road. As we know, If it's not low its not Hella-Flush. But maybe you can carry around a Jack and tools around with you, so you can lower the car before you hard park it. Or by then it will be time to pony up for some Koni's.

Am I trying to discourage you? Maybe a little, as I feel your going to take away any kind of performance or drive-ability for that matter that the car may currently, or once had. But like I said, It's your car. Do what you want with it. Your going to run in to a lot of opposition and people not likening it one bit, but know there will be folks here who will help you regardless. If you can do it, more power to you.

Good luck.

And I'm letting you know that when you run so much Camber on stock struts, that bounce around like crazy on those sleeves, that it's going to hit the tire well (definently in the rear, I PROMISE). Not to mention, If you run enough camber to make a 17x10-11'' wheel "tuck", It's going to hit the strut. There is not much room under these cars.

And yes, While your buddy is running a 205 on a 17x9, but is only seeing the performance of a 205 Tire, Probably even less so. I run a 275 Race slick on a 17x9 so I can... you know, go fast.

That is all opinionated. I would tell you are absolutely nuts if you chose a Ford Taurus for style, Just like you may have told me I'm nuts for tracking a Ford Taurus. I would also tell you that your car is going ride and drive so terrible that even just "cruising" will be a task.

Good luck

Any pics of the your suspension ?

I def am a proud believer in " To each his own " so I say do whatever/ try whatever you want , more power to you.

I DO think it will handle like complete shit tho with the stretched wheels and def with the oni stance.

Also I would listen to advice from Sam , from everything I can gather the guy has ran a lot of different wheel/tire and suspension set-ups. Any advice he gives you know is coming from good experience.

Whatever you do I'm interested to see how it unfolds, good luck.

Its not always about running the widest tread you can find. Dont even think you can use those to there full ability. A car with less HP, less weight and less tread but had proper suspension and proper alignment specs would out handle a sho any day of the week. Im sorry but the sho wasnt designed to be a race car, plain and simple.
