Hey guys
Just saying hello from the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario. I'm picking up an emerald green 95 5-speed this Wednesday, off kijiji for $900. It has about 220,000 km, decent condition overall, will need some brake work.
This fall I sold the 95 T-Bird SC 5-speed that I had owned for almost 11 years, and also the 68 Cougar that had been mine for about the same amount of time.
I instruct at some open-track events for various clubs, and wanted to get something a bit different. The SC worked OK, it had Cobra brakes, Konis & Eibachs, good rubber, and a few bolt-ons for power ... but on hot summer days it would be cooking after 10 minutes of lapping. So I had thought about grabbing a cheap little Focus or ****** ZX2, but couldn't really talk myself into it. So an SHO came to mind, I've always liked them since they were first introduced. I figure with some Cobra brakes, Konis with good springs, and sticky rubber on 17" wheels the SHO could be entertaining. Plus, if I do happen to find a wall with it (hopefully not!!), I don't have a big investment going.
Anyone who has tips on setting these cars up for open-tracking, please chime in or send me a p.m. Of course, I will be using the search feature as much as possible, I know from the Super Coupe forum how annoying the noob questions can be on stuff that has been covered many times previously.
cheers
