Hey guys

Just saying hello from the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario. I'm picking up an emerald green 95 5-speed this Wednesday, off kijiji for $900. It has about 220,000 km, decent condition overall, will need some brake work.

This fall I sold the 95 T-Bird SC 5-speed that I had owned for almost 11 years, and also the 68 Cougar that had been mine for about the same amount of time.

I instruct at some open-track events for various clubs, and wanted to get something a bit different. The SC worked OK, it had Cobra brakes, Konis & Eibachs, good rubber, and a few bolt-ons for power ... but on hot summer days it would be cooking after 10 minutes of lapping. So I had thought about grabbing a cheap little Focus or ****** ZX2, but couldn't really talk myself into it. So an SHO came to mind, I've always liked them since they were first introduced. I figure with some Cobra brakes, Konis with good springs, and sticky rubber on 17" wheels the SHO could be entertaining. Plus, if I do happen to find a wall with it (hopefully not!!), I don't have a big investment going.

Anyone who has tips on setting these cars up for open-tracking, please chime in or send me a p.m. Of course, I will be using the search feature as much as possible, I know from the Super Coupe forum how annoying the noob questions can be on stuff that has been covered many times previously.

cheers

Let me be the first to welcome you.
Besides my SHO's I also have two 89 Cougar SC's and a 68 Cougar.
Don't have any track time but would like to eventually.

Thanks guys. I'll mention as well that I'm a Ford dealership parts guy (about 20 years doing that), so if any of my fellow Canuckistan residents need a hookup on OEM parts, send me a message. I'm also glad to help anyone with OEM part numbers, if they are having trouble with their local source.

cheers

There were a few guys on SCCoA that had the genuine 17x7" SVT wheels, but I can't say that I've seen any offered for sale for quite a while. I'll certainly keep an eye out though, I'm still active on the forums there.

welcome to the forum, and the doors must have been replaced at some point. because unless im worng, the only year with factory flat black door handles and a spoiler was 93. and in 92 it had the same handles but no wing. and 94 and 95 had painted door handles and a wing.
