Every SHO I've ever owned has had working A/C. Even the $50 '92 I had a few years back with a 280K miles on it worked after a recharge.

You are a lucky m-fer!! Yours is one of the VERY FEW stories I've EVER heard where just a recharge brings it back to life!!

Post it 2x in case we couldn't see the hand motions?????

I'm sure that Kirk can fix you up on the a/c for a "nominal" fee.......remember, we are headed to NC.

Did you go to Memphis?? Think "hotter" and "more humid".

Just doing the R134a conversion is under $200 for the kit that my mechanic used.

Yeah, cooling is not as good as a car designed for R134a, but still fine in 90F temps.

My a/c quit working in the middle of the Indy convention. We tried topping it up at Ricky's house on the way to Memphis and it was cold for all of 30 seconds as it was ******* out a rusty line. Damn rusty car.

A benefit of non working a/c is better mileage. I got the best mileage I ever got on the Memphis trip. I think I averaged somewhere between 24 and 28 mpg IIRC.

Extra gas used is WELL worth having cold a/c!!!! F*** the mpg!!!

Everyone, sorry to say but I will not be attending this year.

On edit, my hotel room has already been claimed by an infamous fellow NESHOCer

Sorry to hear John!

Is this infamous NESHOC'er on the caravan list or do I need to update it?

Looks like we got a good group going. I PM'd Tim Johnson this morning to find out one way or another if he's going. Hopefully last year didn't discourage him.

Heard via Kirk today that Tim Johnson won't be making it this year. He dropped the "Hard Luck" award off for Kirk to bring to Charlotte. Guess he's broke like so many others this year...

Don't forget your FRS radios (and batteries!), set them to channel 11 with no privacy code. Ken's email from Monday mistakenly said channel 10, but it's definitely 11 (for 2011).

I plan on departing Cracker Barrel at 4AM sharp, so please be there, fueled and ready to go by then. That Citgo isn't the cheapest but if you head west on Rte. 20 for about a mile there is a Mobil station that IIRC is a little cheaper and I *think* it's open 24 hours.

Any last minute questions/concerns let me know. Anyone who doesn't have my cell send me a PM.
