There's three cats, one on each of the downpipes, and then the third one under the car, before the resonator.
With this system, Kirk eliminated the third cat and resonator, and left the two cats on the downpipes in place.
Just like the Gen 3. And there's no O2s after the primary cats, so it's part of the catback.
I don't much see the point of going totally catless. Modern cats flow pretty well.
Ford somehow managed to recreate the sound of an uncorked Yamahammer with a larger, completely different engine...sounds like when my catback broke off my y-pipe on my 95, only with weird lil whirlygigs making a fun lil pinwheel noise.
