I just bought a new SHO last week, and on the way home from signing the title over, the CEL came on. The car didn't act any differently what-so-ever, so I figured I'd look into it later. Well, 3 days go by and I finally get around to it.

I cannot isolate when the CEL pops up... it seems to be quite random. Also, my spark plug tubes are filled with oil. I know I need new valve seals, but wasn't sure if that problem would cause any of these to pop up.

539 (O) System shows voltage at PCM pin 10. Is A/C on ?

Codes that were stored on the PCM.

176 (M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean Left or Front HO22SSS - Fuel control
332 (R,M) EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE
543 (O) Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
(M) (Service 556 code first if present) Fuel pump relay or battery power feed was open - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

I did a little googling and couldn't find any info for fixes to these problems. Any help?

Damn you're helpful. Because I didn't try the search first.

539: my a/c wasn't on when i did the test, therefore, no idea what it's about
176: only threads i've been able to find are where the cars are having some sort of idle issue. mine is not. i may need new O2 sensors.... still doesn't help me too much
332: i may need a new EGR or just clean it. knew that, still wanted to throw it in my list of codes
543: usually some sort of; car not starting, or running strangely problem. none of which i'm having.

so, once again, can someone who's not just the forum "go search" ******* help me out? :)

I reset the codes just for fun tonight, so I'll see if any pop up tomorrow.

Also, seems the car sometimes takes a few seconds longer than a car should to fire up. Could that potentially be a result of any of these codes?

Josh, welcome to the forum!

You will find that people will be much more helpful if you don't cop an attitude, and if you do your homework first, since in the past 20 years the questions you have asked have been asked about a zillion times..... So, if you would have searched, you would have found the answers to your questions yesterday, instead of waiting until today....

176 indicates lean on the LH (front) bank. This could be due to a vacuum leak or a bad o2 sensor, so search carefully for vacuum leaks and if you don't find any, replace the o2 sensor. (If you replace one, I'd suggest replacing both.)

332 indicates that the egr valve opening was not detected. This could be due to the valve being bad, vacuum not connected/leaking , or that the passages are dirty - all of which are possible, so you will have to figure it out from there. It is possible that this is related to your lean code, but not necessarily.

539 says that the pcm saw the a/c or defrost on during the koeo test. Ignore, or turn the system off before you run the test next time.

543 says the fuel pump secondary circuit failed, which iirc results from the engine stalling at some point in the past. I've always ignored this one, too.

Good luck

this isn,t like other forums

ya get alot more flies with sugar instead of vinegar, there is a wealth of info on here as this is a long running forum, just have to make the effort first, then ask if you can,t find it.some threads have been deleted so feel free to ask after you search first.everyone here will bend over backwards to help you.but i have noticed if ya get crappy n start name calling you will be eaten alive (and the video will be posted on you tube LOL) good luck and enjoy the new car, once ya shake em out n do all the maintinace they,re a blast

Do the upper gaskets, toss in some new plugs when your there...... while the intake is off, clean out the "nostrils" for the IAB valve, and run a pipe cleaner soaked in Berryman's or something down the tube in the intake that feeds the EGR.

I'd drive it around that way a little to see if that dosen't fix it. I've had those "lean" codes from a few weird things. Could have been a time where you spark plug fouled and didn't fire... logically I would think that would set the "memory" code.... otherwise you would have it show up in the KOER test..

But then again... this is just a guess... i've gotten that 172 from time to time.. and never have replaced the 02 ... currently the car spits out 111, so I'm happy....:)

Oh trust me, I'm not trying to cop an attitude. I've been around forums long enough to use the search button, however, i didn't quite find exactly what i was looking for, hence the questions. I went though about 2-3 pages for each code before I decided to give up and post a question.

Not to mention I enjoy talking back to the people that do nothing but say "go search." I'd rather never get a response than read that all the time. ;) There's always SOMEONE on the forums that have to say something among these lines.

and good luck chewing me up and spitting me out haha. I can light a fire under someones ass just as quick as they can mine. :naughty:

Thanks for those that are actually being helpful though. It's VERY much so appreciated, and I'll be sure to do all things that were suggested over the next coming days. Gotta take care of everything before winter after all.

Yeah, I'm with Eric VerValin on this one. If you're unsure of the vehicle history i would definately at least start out with changing the valve cover gaskets. The o-rings on the spark plug tubes get dry and hard and allow oil to drip down in the spark plug wells. Suck all that out and get some new gaskets, and plugs and wires. it might turn out to be a whole new beast.
