I had my car up on a lift tonight replacing the lower ball joint, and while looking around, I saw a few things that, for the life of me, I can't identify.

On the back of the transmission

Ziptied to the back axle, drivers side

Other end of wire running into the car

Although the trans thing intrigues me, seeing this stuff on my back axle looking like something used to be there, concerns me. Any ideas?

With all your tranmission troubles I am surprised you haven't done a transmission filter and gasket.

This was mainly a question. I did the filter, gasket, and new fluid about 4,000 miles ago.
I was just wondering what that thing is on the back of the transmission, that's all.

As for the other trans problem, I wasn't sure if it was a problem, or the torque converter not warming all the way. Good 'ole Wisconsin winters.

I was asking for the wiring schematics for the transmission because I was thinking about adding some sort of flappy paddle gear shift, but decided against it.

Racer X is correct - I expect you have a constant ABS light on (or its burned out...)

When I bought the car, the ABS Bulb was pulled out. When I put it back in, it stayed lit all the time.
So I just pulled it again. At least now I know why it's on.
It's ok though, I hate ABS, so the fact that it doesn't work isn't a big concern to me.
I'd rather pump the brakes then rely on an ABS system anyways.
