I have a pretty wide array of tools available to me but I don't have the large sockets needed for some suspension parts. So I am going to buy the individual sockets that I need for my suspension redo, and I was hoping that their are some members that would have access to what those sizes are. I nut/bolt sizes I need are:

Axle nut
Strut rod through subframe nut
strut rod through LCA nut
LCA pinch bolt
Strut pinch bolt
Rack + Pinion bolt/nut

Thanx, Doug

Doug, if you can get the Ford part#'s I can see what most of the sizes are. The local autoparts store will carry and have ref. for the correct axle nut.

Alright, I can get those part # tomorrow....that would be really sweet if you could do that. I'll go see if the numbskulls can get me the axle nut reference and I'll get back here tomorrow with those part #s. Thanx, Doug

I bought my axle nuts there and they got it right. I think there are only a few standard sizes commonly used for these. Sho Nut's site might list some of the p#'s for quick reference. I would get the pinch bolts from Ford. I think the axle nut size requires a 32mm?? I'd have to check. You would be well served to get a set of deep well sockets that cover most of the upper range for this and future projects. I often use the 18mm,19mm, and a few in the 20's. The axle nut size you can buy at AZ seperate along with the nuts.

Well, I am replacing my front hubs and bearings with a Timken kit which came with an axle nut. So, that is simple, take it to the store and find the size that fits. My pinch bolts are on order from Ford along with the nut and bolt that connects the LCA to the subframe. The main two that I need the sizes for are the two bolts I'm not replacing, which is the strut rod to subframe and the strut rod to LCA. Are these as critical to replace as the pinch bolts? Or should I just find the size for them and reuse them. Thanx, for the help so far.
Doug
