Guys,

I'm not sure what the deal is but my car is running like ****!!!! When trying to start it pops, backfires and doesn't want to run. When you do get it after the fourth or so try it runs ok, but the tachometer does not work for like 30 seconds, the C/E light is on almost 95% of the time and you can feel a slight chug or hesitation as you drive it. I had Miltown pull codes last Saturday but it came up negative. I put a Ted B and 80 MAF on the vehicle almost 6 weeks ago with no problems or snags at all. Please help.

Just got off the phone with Mike, its the CID, no tach, hard starting, bucking while driving, etc.

Looking up the part numbers...

Go to Autozone, the part number is F134, its made by Wells. $32.99 and should be in stock! Here's a link to the part

See these two posts for help : 1 2

Also found this on shotimes website "If you suspect a CID sensor going bad after the engine warms up, its best to start the engine with the sensor connected, verify that all is well, then disconnect the CID and don't turn off the motor. This keeps a flaky CID from mucking up the fuel synchronization until you can get to a garage or home to replace the faulty sensor. "

That article is located here: PIP, CID, and You: SHO Ignition System Basics

Also note you will need a 5.5, but I found this also "If you'll look again at my post above, you'll see that I reference that the 5.5mm bolt size is also equivalent to the very common 7/32" socket size. This English socket measures out to 5.556mm and is "close enough for government work."

Good luck Mike, let me know if it works! :thumb:

Problem Fixed!

The Wells F134 part at Auto Zone was the problem. It took like 5 minutes to complete the job and the car runs great again. Thanks Jason.
