I've been on that particular dyno with my all-stock SHO and made slightly high but not outrageous numbers. I made 194 whp on a dynojet and 204 whp on that mustang dyno... So I really doubt the results.

112 octane + lots of compression + lots of timing = Power.

Which Dyno? I wasn't at Modern Garage, where I saw you. If you look you'll see it was at Absolute performance. I went there because I knew it was just calibrated, Your close enough come out to the salt flats the 13th thru 16th of Sep. if it holds together we'll see what it does. By the way ten H/P one way or the other still makes me happy.

Anyone who is doubting the numbers that this car puts out, needs to get off their butts and come out to see it. Just because you cant get your car to make the same numbers does not mean that it is impossible.

I have worked on this car and was at the dyno. This engine is a beast.

Granted that the reliability of computers is rarely 100% I am sure that these numbers can't be too far off.

Could this car be ran in the 1/4? that would put some non-believers in the correct place.

Quarter Mile On Dyno

I thought I had this on at the begining and hadn't noticed that I had posted one run twice. SORRY:

The non-believers (probably more appropriately "skeptics") are so for a reason. You'll never learn much from somebody who just swallows stuff blindly, but you might learn a lot from a skeptic.

FWIW, I'm with Mike, Mark, et al. Tests are great, but you need to understand the limitations of tests, too. If the test is telling you something outside the range of practicality, one is correct to question the test.

Here's a great primer on the relationship between volumetric efficiency, air flow, HP and torque: http://www.epi-eng.com/ET-VolEff.htm

I'm too lazy to do the math, but my guess is (as Mark mentioned) you'll see some pretty high VE numbers required to get that kind of power from a 3.0L N/A motor.

If you can get ~1.85 ft/lbs of torque per cubic inch (if we are factoring in ~ 280 measured at the wheels) from a 3.0L *atmospheric breathing* engine, with a ~89mm bore and ~80mm stroke, on pump gas...there's some F1 teams over in Europe that would gladly pay you millions of euro's to come head their engine building programs ;)

I of course want 20%, as your agent, since I "discovered" you...

All I can say is: Look at my mods then call the dyno operator and tell him his machine lied. I went the opposite direction on my build than every body else. I know the quarter mile times are "bogus" also, right. Have you questioned everybody elses dyno sheets also. Maybe you can sell toolman and texastony to john forces team. Sorry toolman and texastony.

My last post was more for fun than anything. I can appreciate thinking outside of the box and a few of your things are interesting to say the least (like a reverse offset grind on the crank, sorta unique).

I don't doubt it's a good motor, don't doubt it runs strong.

I'm simply saying there's an input error or calibration error in the machine. The math simply doesn't add up.

I'm really sorry for the last post I'm just stressing over inj. and air/fuel mixture right now, I know the numbers are hard to believe, I've got a video of a show powered lakester two weeks ago when it started a run of over 200 mph, the motor is a 3.0 sho motor putting out over 500 hp N/A with a carb.
AGAIN I'M SORRY I CAME DOWN SO HARD.

Is that SHO powered lakester built by a couple of guys(Hall?) from Denton(Dallas/Ft Worth) Tx? If it is I talked to them at the Tx Mile last Oct. They said they used to run a Pinto powered lakester but wanted more speed. They said they knew how to tune a carb so they didn't need fuel injection, were gonna use Electromotive 3 for spark timing.

It was the yellow lakester that was talked about on the forum a few months ago it is now a streamliner with covered rear wheels. Tracer Racing, Madesto Ca.They have a roadster (modified) with another 3.0 in it. Pretty good people, the roadster only got around 155 mph before the engine let loose.

It's gutted. Nothing in the engine compartment that doesn't have a function, interier is pretty much stripped, nothing under the dash is left, custom dash panel and guages., the heavy struts and springs replaced with ground control coil-overs, tires and wheels wiegh around 18-20 lbs ea.
