Hey guys. Now that my car is coming here I'm ditching the small 17x7.5" ASA KA3's and Hooking up these new Katana VR6 silver with polished lip wheels. They are supposedly around 18-19lbs each. They are coming to me in 2 different offsets. 40mm front to keep normal track and eliminate any possible rubbing and 35mm rear to push them out to match front track. I always hated it when the rear sits farther in then the front. I will be cutting/trimming my rear fender lip to make these fit right at home. The boys over a t www.Wheelguyz.com are hooking me up with a set of 4 with 235-40-zr18 UHP Falken tires for $999. Shipping to Italy is around $350 due to size and weight. The silver center will match my car perfectly when I get it resprayed. I photshopped a pic of these on my car in a previous post.

Those are good looking wheels. You seem to have worked out what you want. The use of different offsets front and rear would prevent any meaningful tire rotation. You will be replacing front tires much more frequently than the rears.

I have 16"x7.5" wide, 35 mm offset wheels all the way around and yes, I did have to trim the rear fenders to no more than 1/2" thick for most of the arc. Here is a view of my car from the rear 3/4 view showing the full filling of the rear fenders and the "wide track" of the fronts. I would like the fronts to protrude a bit less from the fenderwells, but the shorter tire life without rotation was not even considered an option.

Tire rotation is not an issue out here in italy. Seeing as how the roads are made of part marble, tires wear signifigantly less. My car is getting adjustable aluminum rear control arms and camber adjustment plates up front to keep inner tire wear to a minimum. A 4 wheel alignment with demounting and remounting(including balancing) of all 4 tires, a true rotation, is only $50 at my local speed shop so that isn't a problem either. Thanx for the pic of the 35mm 17x7.5" wheel. I can use it as a reference.

Could you go with a wider tire?

I would like to stick the fattest tires possible under my SHO.

I like the fact that these wheels weigh under 20lbs.

245 is about as wide as you can go in the rear. The front might hold a little more. But, to run 245's on 18s you'd probably have to drop down to a 35 series tire, which increases the likelihood of a bent rim a lot.

dont want too wide of a tire on these 35 mm off set rear wheels. this is because I already will have to cut my fender lip to accomedate the new wheels with 235-40-18 tires. A 245-40-18 is too wide and will most likely rub the fender. BTW, Jose I will be needing a Short shifter soon.

If one were to use 245-40-18's, which offset would be the correct to use so that they tires do not rub against the struts?

One could always trim the feder lips or bang them out a bit, but if the tires rubbed the struts, the only solution would be to use spacers (which I would rather not).

However, if the 245's with 40mm offset do not rub against the struts, I would prefer them, to keep the tire tucked inside the fenders.

By the way, I have 1 SHOrt Shifter left. Nobody has put a deposit on it yet, but I still get people interested in it. In all fairness, first one to commit gets it.

Onother group buy on the shifters may be along way off.

NICE. I almost got those rims a few years back, but the websites didnt have them in the right bolt pattern.
Post some pictures when you put them on.
