We have a member approaching 200K on his original trans, and I'm sure he's not the only one.

There's a guy here in Va with two gen 3's, both unwelded and both on original transmissions. One has over 238k and the other (silver) has about 135k.

Your's looks great, very clean, shiny wheels, and I'm liking the blacked out lights - both head and tail. :thumb:

tranny's are a "crap-shoot" in all Fords.
my SHO tranny got a re-build at 75K. no probs since
i had a '99 Windstar w/ a blown tranny @ 60K
i had a '97 Taurus LX w/ a blown tranny @ 85K
however, i have an '01 escape w/ 130K and a '99 Explorer w/ 165K...no tranny problems

2 out of 5 (40%) success rate (haha!).

That is a very nice Gen 3. The colour is very attractive. The darkened rear lights are an excellent feature and the rear view seems particularily nice.
The deep red Gen 3's are great looking cars as the tailights tend to go unnoticed when surrounded by the same coloured body.
Nice car, and you may not have any problems with the transmission at all. There are plenty of little tricks that help them.

Nice looking SHO.
The black ones look pretty good with blackened tailights also.

yea i love the black shos but i can never find one that has a blown motor or a trans that is bad. I have a buddy that has a 1996 blacked out sho and it looks really nice but when the time is right i will buy one..
