Eh, more than you probably need but to be honest, I was expecting a big heater core painted blue -lol.

That's about as poor a choice for an I/C that you could possibly put in your car.
how you figure... please explain ,, its bar and plate design... 3inch openings... 0.2psi drop at 15psi boost.... sounds good to me... it may be overkill but thats how i like it.

Ive got a very similar one on my boosted SHO. Only it is a 3" core, with 3" inlet/outlet.

Now you see it....

Now you dont!

They are very nice, but very much overkill.
And from experience, 3" core is about MAX for fitment on a Gen 1. Beyond that, and you will have to start doing some heavy trimming to get it to fit.

I'm lost as to how a cooler charge, and less pressure loss is "overkill."

There is no overkill on an intercooler, the bigger the better (Within reason).

nice! me likey hehe... but hey its better to have more cooling than not enough.... not like i really need any my charge pipes keptt my intake temps way down... almost no point to an ic... but i am trying to run 14psi instead of 8psi... so its better safe than sorry.

That would be good for a 1000hp V8, but it's way too large for a 3.0 with a small turbo. You want a cooler than is matched to your setup. You want to keep the air velocity up through the core. There's a fine line between maintaining velocity, having a too restrictive core, and having too large a core. That's why real custom intercoolers are $1000, not $200.

It WILL work, as far as cooling your air charge. But you may have some big time lag having to fill that thing with air on spool up.

****, I didn't even run a cooler that big on my 1000hp turbo Lightning.

well me saying its over **** is cuz my turbos only good for 350hp... i could use a dinky one from a talon and be fine... but yeah i do like haveing the extra insurance.... plus for 128 bucks how could i pass it up????:naughty:

ahh i see what your saying good point.... but for lag... i dont have lag... none what so ever... just off idle i get full boost... plus i had 3 inch cold plumbing to fill and still i had no lag.... but im willing to give a lil lag fer some nice cold intake charge...

"Filling" the cold system with air is a very very very small part of lag/boost threshold, and is negligible. I guarantee you adding that intercooler to a previously non-intercooled car, and you will not notice a difference in lag and/or boost threshold/timing.

Well, he asked what we think, and that's what I think. I've built a lot of turbo vehicles. Just my opinion of course, others may vary  .
