I hope it's ok to put my pictures on this page, as I finally figured out how to do it from the help of FORDLOVER96

This is my second SHO. My first was a brand new 1989 Titanium purchased at Pelican Ford In Sarasota, Florida where I live. The first delivered to this area. It was on the showroom floor inside the dealership. I was a Police Officer on the Longboat Key Police Dept. and we drove the Taurus police package. I took one of our cars in for service and saw the '89. I was hooked and bought it while I was on duty!!! Haaaa....I was 24 years old, fresh out of the U.S. Navy and new to being a cop. $28,*** back then. I had a $450.00 car payment.

Vowing to someday own another one, I found my new baby. It was owned by a Master Ford Mech (I know, everyone says that) but I researched it and met the guy. Bought it on the spot.

It's a '93 Black ATX with everything but the keypad. It had 119K and runs like a bad guy from the cops!! No pun intended. Glad to be back in the coolest, baddest 4 door Detroit ever made.

The Monte is my Old ladies. The SHO can smoke the Supercharged 3.8. Good times!!

Looks good! I kinda always liked the Black SHO's. Having a White one, the Blacks ones have begun to grow on me. And that interior looks to be in good condition! Now tell me, has the car been repainted?

Beautiful specimen! Glad to have you back in the fold So how do you feel about the ATX vs the original 1st year MTX?

I loved the '89. It seemed faster to me. I loved the growl when the RPM'S get up there. Now that I'm older and less patient, and with heavy traffic, the ATX is nice. Since I took the silencer off, it growls now. FORD96, this car is almost 100% original. No re-paint, no wrecks, no tears. The only thing not original is the new radio and I installed a ETAC hard button from a Lincoln. Original exhaust too, but there was a small hole on the seam of the left muffler I fixed with JB weld.

The only thing I did not like on the MTX was the long throw on the OEM shifter. Other than that, so much fun, sans traffic of course.

I've got a white with white rims 95 ATX, great cruiser and in traffic car, and it will still move out fast, but off all the SHO's I have had the 89 I had felt the fastest, so I agree with you on that! Beautiful car, love the black on black! I was a kid when these were new, and wanted an SHO so bad as a teenager, must have been really cool to have bought one when they were brand new.

There is no doubt to me that the '89 is faster. Not sure if it has anything to do with being a 5 sp.? But, I too hated the long throw as well. One thing for sure is the ATX launches better with spin but not like a MTX. I could smoke the tires off the rims.

My only complaint is the odor I mentioned in another thread. Still stinks. Goin to work on it tonight, but the skeeters are horrible! Later fellas, thinks for the comments.
