well now that i have fixed my 92 mtx sho for the most part i have been driving it kinda hard. and now at least one of my mounts is shot. when you shift you can hear and feel the motor bouncing up and down. unless you shift super super slow and gently. and the front of the intake as a polished spot on it. how big of a job is to replace these? and how many are there? just one in the front and on it back? a buddy of mine has an engine hoist and said he would help me out w/ it. is this something i could prob manage myself. or better off just goin to the shop. i have access to tools and am mechanically inclined. but have never actually done something like this before. and if i must go to the shop how much $ am i looking at? thanks

There is two for the engine, one in the front one in the back. It is not that hard to replace. If you have access to tools and ramps or something similar you probibly can manage. Lift the motor a bit and loosen the subframe screws and squeez it out...there is more info on other post that you can find... If you go a shop they will probibly charge you about 150 to 200 labor...(I think, I maybe wrong)...

should i just get that reinforced one from shoshop for like 150 i think it is? and do i only need the front one? it seems like its only the front of the engine going up. the rear one seems ok. or should i just change that one too. another important issue. i wont be able to fix this imediately. is normal driving ok? or will i mess things up. as long as im not racing or accelerating very hard will it do any damage to anything else?

you can get a pair of reinforced mounts from me for much cheaper than just a single mount from SS, PM me if interested.

Buy the reinforced mounts once, and never pay for new mounts again...

Worth the $$$!

I have had SHO Shop mounts for 8 years now. They are still good and I have one Josh (SHONut) front mount which I will install when I swap the engine in the future. I think SHOnut's mount will last longer is stronger than the SHO shop's mount. It takes about an hour to change the front mount.
