motor started knocking today, what year model motors will interchange with the 2011 with out many modifications? where is a good place to find a good motor also? any info will help a lot.

any 2010-19 motor will interchange - models include taurus, mks, flex, mkt, and explorer.

2010-12 taurus or mks will be drop in. other MYs/models may require minor/very doable adjustments.

also check on ebay and cross compare with mileage, price, and location. The upside with professional recyclers, (like car-part.com and somewho may or may not be selling on ebay) is you might get a warranty to make sure it's not a dud out of the box.
