For all of the people who are tired of their Moon Roof cover peeling on their a head a simple but a bit of labor to clean it up and give your SHO interior a cleaner look.
You Need: a screw driver (Phillips), Easy Off oven cleaner, a a few razor blades and a hand scraper, latex gloves, card board or a news paper ,the color and brand of paint you like, and *some time!*
First To remove the the glass moon roof there are 3 screws a side and 3 in the front for a total of 9. i recommend getting your hands on a GOOD phillips screwdriver to prevent stripping the screws out. Also id recommend having someone there to help you get the glass out due to it is rather heavy and can be rather pricey to be replaced.
Second Slide out the cover and lay it out some where and begin to spray it down in the oven cleaner and let it set for 10 - 15 mins*great time to clean the glass on your moon roof and oil the tracks* PUT the gloves on or it WILL eat your skin and begin to burn after awhile and then begin to scrape and scrape and scrape. Be careful not to remove the plastics under the fuzz as it will show after paint, but not to bad if it does happen. This is gonna take sometime but yields a nice black Cover. (i had some glue spots lift on mine it wasn't a big deal, didn't show through or cause paint sticking issues).
After you finish scraping down the Slider give it a bath in warm soapy water to wash all of the oven cleaner and fuzz off. This often times lead me to seeing pieces i had missed and removed what i thought was still stuck on.
Towel it off let dry and then begin paint throughly at many angles to insure you get the insides of the slots. i did 2 or 3 coats to get an even and good finish.
Then after the slider has dried slide it back into the grove in the car and place the moon roof back in the car and put the screw back in. you may have to adjust the glass a few times to get it to line back up and not be to noisy/ leak.
Then sit back and Enjoy your work.
*the paint i used i thought was bit light but after installed i cant really tell, so its up to you the color, it was this-
