I... AM... REALLY.... getting irritated about all this MOBSTEEL crap.... because... IT DOESN'T FIT MY BRICK!!!!:nut::nut:@$%&^%#@!!!!!!:thankyou:evilgrin::evilgrin::evilgrin:

I sent mobsteel an email asking them if they were going to make it and Adam says no. I am going to start working with a local shop to reproduce it for a stock Flex. I've informed Adam that there is a need and of my intentions, and asked his permission to move forward (as they made the original one) and that if I have one made they will be sold by the vendor I'm working with.

Mike have you had the chance to mock up the emblem on there and snap a pic, so we could give you a better idea on how it would look?

Now my only dilemma is that I like the mesh of the upper grille so much, that I don't really know at this point if I want tarnish it by placing that custom Ford oval emblem into it.

My thoughts are that I like the fact that a person looking in their rear view mirror has no clue wth's coming up behind them, so I'm thinking about leaving it as it sits right now, minus any emblem all together.

Then, when I pass said driver, they'll know for sure wth it was that just passed them when they see my custom, stretched out Taurus badging and custom black/white Ford oval emblem on the rear trunk lid only.

Hey Mike,

I've been MIA for a few weeks and just saw your finished pictures with the grille. I think that it looks good and carries your black and white theme very nicely :thumb:
As for the dilemma of mounting an emblem in the mesh, I've kind of been having the same thoughts whether to do it or not to do it on my car. I don't think that I would like to see the Ford emblem mounted on the mesh of my car because of the size of it however I was still planning on mounting a SHO emblem in the bottom right hand corner of the mesh. Haven't heard from Mobsteel yet on the completion of that...... The problem is now that I've lived with the grille with no emblem for a few weeks, I kindof like that "stealth" look too.... I guess this means that I vote "NO" to the emblem :)

I'm really dig'n the stealth look as well Andrew.

Glad to know I'm in good company though, knowing that we are going through similiar design issues as far as it relating to whether or not to rock an emblem in that upper grille, or not.

Like you, after having some time to roll around after installing the grille, I see people goose necking almost all the time now and pointing the SHO out to their passengers or what have you...... I think by not having the emblem that it kind of adds to the overall "what the **** is that" type of theme.

Thanks for the kudos bro...... :thumb:
The difference with a black car (like Andrew's) is that the black lips are not visible (either because of the car being black or the black teeth lol). For Andrew, I agree, the stealth look looks good, but for you Mike, still not sure it is accomplished... still needs something to offset the black lips... JMHO.
Cheers!

I just placed my order for the grill :)

Adam was very helpful and MobSteel so far has been great. I'm still up in the air on the type - i'm pre ordering the black, but I hear the polish looks great too.

Any thoughts? I'm pumped!!!! I can't wait to get it in and i'll post pics once installed.

Yes mike I know, and I am nothing but polite and understanding when speak with them. I only express my anticipation. But it seem that I am getting a bit of a run around when they say it should be done next week, for six weeks. And I realize this the norm with custom made stuff. But I want it now.

they told me two weeks, and that the first 10 or so took a while due to having to change the mold for the ACC. They are saying they can produce these much faster now...we will see!

So what do you all think: black matted or polished steel? I'm leaning towards the black. I have the silver sho.
