I talked to Adam at Mobsteel and they are going to sell the grill aftermarket, as well as the ECU programming they used that gave them 90+ HP

:hail: Thanks for posting. Do you know when they plan on releasing that grille? I might have to go get my wheels powder coated black in anticipation.

I'm also curious on how safe their tune is.

He described the tune as being the kind that guys not concerned over warranty issues would use, so I suspect that it's fairly aggressive. He also stated that they tried cold air induction kits and never got any gains over factory, which I thought was interesting...

This was about a month ago that I spoke with him and he said the grill should be out really soon, so any day now I would imagine. He also said that they could paint it whatever color you wanted before they shipped which started me to thinking that there are probably some neat effects you could get going with another color...

I'm thinking about doing my break calipers and the Mobsteel grill in a nice Ford Blue...

You're gonna break your calipers? Why?

And painting a grill sounds like a problem. The paint will chip. Powdercoat instead. As for the performance, I still have seen no videos. There are plenty of aftermarket companies that have "factory backing" that make baseless claims and put out nothing but promises and questionable product.

Why are there no videos or dyno sheets?

break... Opps! Nice catch. I did mean brakes... My dyslexia enjoys presenting itself more so in Forums than anywhere else I think...

Your probably right about the chipping of the paint for the grill... I have so many nicks from flying around the beltway already that it makes me want to cry...

I wanna know more about the brembo's..

You can always give Todd at TCE a call about brakes. They put together a package for the Flex for SEMA but it fell through. They'll put together a front package for about 2200

Sign me up for the grille, I'm all over it. In fact, if you truly have a contact over there, please let them know I sent them an email to the sales@mobsteel addy and never got a reply. That was last week.

I have a few color options I'd like to discuss with them as well.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide 1BlueBull.

I thought when I saw that car they used the TRex grille it was just powdercoated. I could be wrong though

SEMA ia a car show... None of the stuff that you see works.. Its all about looks and BS.

The other car MRT? the Red one at the convention with the cool, hood, bad paint and ****** looking wheels with that large intercooler.. Remember that one?

The intercooler was fake, I asked to open the hood and when I did, I seen the stock IC pipes.. So I got down on the ground and stuck my hand up in the splash shield and put my hand in the Fake IC connectors..

Ill bet the brembos on the Turdsteel were just sitting looking all pretty and not functional.

When those cars went to SEMA no one had tuning software, so their claims are as bad as the wheels and grille on that car.

Arent most of the SEMA cars trailered there anyway? So they just throw stuff on it basically. Waste of money if it doesnt work.

My guess on the wheels.... Brembo calipers are really thick so they likely had very few options due to clearance. Doubt stock SHO wheels would fit.

On G8 GXP that have Brembo's, very few after-market wheels that fit all G8 GT's will clear GXP front Brembo's.

Agree... they are BUTT-UGLY!

Tim Pavlik, who brought his GXP to Dearborn, got CTS-V wheels in the regular finish. 8" front, 9" rear, IIRC. And he put a Pontiac sticker over the Cadillac centercaps.

 :laugh_ti: bwahahahahahaha :laugh_ti:

Now that right there's some funny **** shyt indeed.

I'd agree with you overall PhantomX, but I myself still like the grille. :munch:

LOL yea I think I'd rock the grill, my car is black and the grill would blend nicely. I think it's really just the wheels that wreck it, they are aweful. Well that and the *** aluminium peices on the door and fender, those gotta go too. With a sick set of something made by CSL or VMR or something even crazy high end like DPE would just make that thing a :dribble: machine. Wheels are everything. It's like Ugly Betty, you know with just a couple tweaks she could be smokin hot.

9" f; 9.5" r

CTS-V wheels look almost exactly like the GXP wheels. NOW... My G8 GT wheels (which won't fit the GXP) are the way to go... German Breyton's...

19 x8.5 fronts (30 offset) & 19 x9.5 rears (35 offset) with 275-35-19" Bridgestone 050A's on back.

OR... My 08' G8 GT with Beyern Multi's - same sizes as above but 40 & 45 F/R offsets and 285-35-19's on rear.

Actually, the smart thing for performance, would have been to downsize or get the lightest wheel/performance tire combo available.

These wheels wheels weigh 54 lbs front (same as stock) and 58 lbs rear.

Agreed. I really want to start "blacking-out" my SHO. That grill would be perfect and I like the removal of the chrome around the windows, lower front bumper fascia and the LED fog lights. That's it though. I love the factory 20's on my SHO far more than those ugly rims and lowering a car for me is out of the question. Once I find the grill, all I need is a good bodyshop to take care of the chrome.
If it wasn't for the wheels, I would be in love with that mobsteel SHO :hail:
