My ATX car is moaning when on partial throttle and accelerating. No throttle = No Moaning or Groaning. It's driving me nuts. Not super loud but has enough volume to get over the stereo. Its sounds as if its from the driver side so that rules out the accessory belt and devices.
Could it just be low temps and the tranny?
Here in NJ its around 15 degrees now and my ATX temp gauge takes a while getting just over the 100F mark and usually sits around the 125F mark.
I checked the ATF fluid and it seems spot on, but I lack trust in it as the temp gauge says the fluid is nowhere warmed up.
Note, this sounds just like a moan that varies with the speed of the engine. No knocking or ticking or anything of that nature. Sounds like bearings (not rod bearings, well hopefully) in something is about to give out. Kind of like a P/S pump moan.
I don't remeber hearing this noise before but I just started driving my ATX again after a 3 month vacation from it after I bought my MTX.
Any insight?
Thanks Again All
