My 92 showed a bad map when the codes were pulled, the one in it is brand new from checker so I thought it might be the wrong one, but on searching old threads I realized it was pluged into the vacum line from on top of the throttle body, and the line that was supposed to be there was left unplugged  I called the local Checker for help and I got duh-what? so I was wondering if anyone knew if Checker part SO1207 was correct for this car? I have some other stuff taken apart so I can't re-pull the codes.

Thank you

There should be a plastic piece at the "hose" end that makes attaching a hose difficult. Where on the throttle body did it go? Since it's not supposed to be there, perhaps you have a hose missing to somewhere else?
The MAP is actually a BAP (baro sensor/ ambient air) you should try cross checking with that. I bet the regular Taurus of that model year uses a MAP (manifold ab. pres.) instead of a BAP.

They carry more than 1 brand on the website partsamerica.com so check the site for the Niehoff Ignition or GP Sorenson part.

If the sensor didn't get damaged you could try to clear the codes and see if the code comes back.

I found the other hose, it was just laying there. They just used a bigger hose to overcome the plastic piece. i'll check parts america, thanks for your help.

Man this part number doesn't even seem to exist, they have no record in thier website. Do all map sensors look the same and just have different electronics? I'll have it back together tonight, so worse case i'll just let the computer tell me. There's a wrecking yard near here with a ton of SHOs so I can just get one there tomorrow.

Yea I don't know what brand is on it now, I know it's new for sure but I don't know if it's the right one, and the part number on it doesn't pull up on Checkers website which is where it was purchased. When I get it back together tonight I'll just re-pull the codes and it it brings up map sensor again I'll just replace it. I only wish I had the reciept so I didn't have buy it but oh well.

Thanks

Mike, they might have different part numbers at the stores vs the partsamerica site. We have Advance Auto parts here and they use (or did) the partsamerica site for online stuff. However, often numbers didn't match up and part offerings differed a bit.
