Those of you who have lowered your gen3, which springs are you using? I did a search and turned up nothing that I could work with. I went to the local speed shop and he talked with a company that custom builds lowering springs for specific cars, but they want almost $400!
What are you all using and how much did you's pay?

I'm using the Roush springs. I don't believe they're still made, but there are a few sets out there. There was a set on EBAY last week and others have reported that the SHO Shop has some...

There are certain adjustments that must be made to your driving style...epecially if there are a lot of potholes in the area.

But, the look can't be beat!

A few weeks ago I called the SHOshop about their
lowering springs. At the time they were on sale for $199. They told me they did not have anymore and they weren't going to have anymore. He said the only way to do it was to get custom springs made. So I guess I'm in the same boat as you are. Just have to keep checking ebay and the SHOforum classifieds. Keep us posted if you come across anything.

I had some custom made front springs. They lowered the front 1.125" and are the same spring rate as my original MAD springs. Very happy with them. The rear can be lowered sufficiently with the strut whacking mod.

Eibach's, and the 1.5" drop is just right for a nice stance while remaining daily drivable without much worries. Good ride to as teh springs are progressive rate. Not available anymore though I beleive.

Eibach's?!!! WHere did you get Eibach's from? Are they SHO specific, or regular Taurus?

Front and rear, or just front? Tell me more!

Venom has a TAurus with a Duratec, so I think they are just for the Taurus. But then again so are the Roush, but they work fine with the SHO. I have the roush springs and I love the height it gave

The guy from the speed shop called me and told me that he could get me a custom set of springs for $375+installation. How does that sound?

Yes, you can lower it without the springs by cutting the tabs on the strut and moving up. Your car does not look lowered at all. I just have the roush springs and I am MUCH lower than you are. FWIW, some people use the springs with the strut method to get it a bit lower than even the springs will do.

Im using the roush as well .... the final lowering on my car was ~ 1.75 in front and 1.25 in the rear. The stats on the springs said 1.5/1.0 lowering if im not mistaken. Anyway its enough that I can barely put two fingers at the top of the wheel well to the top of the tire. Randy is just about the same height as myself.

The tab cutting I believe is only good for like a 1/4"

Tire rack has springs for like $399. Im sure if you hunt for them you can find a set of roush's for sale.

Yeah that is the route I am going. Any of yous guys with the Roush's ever have rubbing problems? Because I only wanted about a 1/2" drop in the rear. I would think with a 1.5" drop there would be some major rubbing issues, especially with a full car.

Now I cannot wait until I get a set, which hopefully will be later on today.

How much did everybody pay for theirs?
Roman,

Give me a call if you come across a set. If they have more than one set available, I'd like to get in on the action.

OK, I don't know how monumental it is, but I picked up a set of SLO Eibach springs (hoping that as with the Roush springs, they will work OK- until I mount them-which may be next spring, Michigan you know- I won't know for sure.)
Anyway, I agree that they were hard to find. I found the part number somewhere buy then couldn't find them anywhere that sold Eibach's (not even Summit). I ended up accidently running across them on a Yahoo search and found them at JC Whitney. I ordered them aprehensively (because I'm used to their catalog which looks like it's from the 1920's and you aren't sure to believe that the stuff actually exists!)
Anyway, sure enough, they arrived, but like I said- we'll see when I go to mount them!

Also, is it truly possible to drive the GenIII with the full 1.4" drop? I have already hacked the strut tab (front only- my ass-end is a little saggy as it is) and I've managed to bottom out the plastic stone guard under the tranny on the freeway eek! !!
Has anyone mounted up the SLO springs?
