My first run today was not very good, it was a DNF, but it made for some good video.

SHO Autocross Lost Control

It's been pretty hard to get the back end to brake loose on that car, but here's proof I can do it.

Yes, I am in the car alone and I do talk to myself when driving. I did not realize I was thinking out loud when I raced until I mounted the camera in the car.

It was a 2 day Divisional event and me and my car were both outclassed. I took last place, but was not as far out as I thought I was going to be. I was less than 2 seconds behind the guy in front of me in STS. Looking at other classes I beat some cars that were a lot newer and worth a lot more than mine. As always it was fun.

Yeah, it's weird what you learn watching your own in-car cams. Things are often way different in review than you thought they were (like learning that you talk in the car).

At least your not like the Nemesis guy, though... ;)

That slide started a couple of turns before, but you probably already figured that out. And you ain't gonna learn where the edge is unless you take it there once in a while, and an autocross course is about the best possible environment to do that.

Looking good, IMHO.

I did not want to sound like I was making excuses, but I was trying some different air pressures. The front was not gripping enough the day before so I put 4 more psi in the front to 42. Well, the video shows how that turned out. I dropped it to 40 and now if I go to fast and turn the front tires break loose and the car slides in a straight line.

The car is an 89 with 135k miles, and original front struts. I am hoping to put adjustable Koni's on the front, adjustable coils on all 4 corners. I already have KYB struts in the rear.

your course is awesome and huge compared to one of the 2 places in MN that we run on a regular basis.

i spun mine about a month ago resulting in a DNF but you do learn how much is too much really fast out there. may i ask what you are running for tires?

sweet vid
