I currently have a 97 mustang cobra. This car cannot be driven in the winter. I want a ford car for the winter. The ford taurus is a great looking car and I love them very much. I really want a DOHC V8 in my taurus :D

Would the SHO make a good winter car or would it grip as bad as my cobra?

I found a SHO with around 70K on the clock. Is there a lot of maintiance that needs to be done? What maintiance should have been done?

There's a few problems with these cars, the cams, the trannys and the coils. You get those four solved and you're doing alright. But then you've got other little things like prematurely worn out subframe bushings, sway bar pushings, window motors, etc.

In my opinion, it's not the best made car in the world but it is a lot of fun and they can be had pretty cheaply. If you do get one cheaply put some of that saving into the cam welding and a fund for upkeep.

Not trying to scare you off because the car is a great car, but it's not the most problem free car out there.

If you put winter tires on any SHO they are a hoot in the snow.

You got that right. I run Blizzaks on the factory wheels during the winter. Makes winter driving a blast!
