One of the things Rose and I do is the rescue of unwanted dogs from shelters in the south (mostly German Shepherds) and find them homes here in VT. So I had to go to Windahm NH this afternoon to pick up a 3 month old German Shepherd puppy for a friend. I decided to take the SHO for a "shakedown cruise" to see if anything would break.... Well nothing did but I seem to have an ATF leak somewhere. Before I left I added a quart of ATF. When I got to southern NH I had a faint oily sheen on the back of the car and was a quart low again. Cross your fingers that this is just a leaky pan gasket. because at this rate I wont need to do a flush since all the ATF will be new and the car will be ready for winter because it will be all nice and oil undercoated
. The ATF doesn't smell burned which is a good sign. Anyway after 380 odd miles nothing major broke (like an idiot I missed a turn and did a little side trip to Hampton Beach... OOPS
) and I got home with no real problem. Looks like if I can fix the leak (or at least stay ahead of it) We'll be down for the breakfast the 21'st.
