Just as it says, I pulled a plug wire on my 94 today and it was coated in oil nearly 2/3 of the way up and pooled in the bottom. I quickly crammed it back on and just went into shock I think. I dunno why, I mean its got 146k on it, and not a single owner who was 'into' them. But still, my heart sank. So any links to parts lists and instructions on what to do would be helpful. I know its on here somewhere but I can't seem to find them in the search. Thanks :frown:

I know SHOs are gonna be broken and everything, but still, it sucks :frown:

Just curious, how do I go about getting the oil out of the sparkplug wells? Just take the plugs out and let it run into the engine or something? Or will it just drain out when I drain the oil?

DO NOT let the oil drain into the engine by removing the spark plug.

What i found that works nice is to take a squiter from a spray bottle and squirt most of the oil out.

You could also roll up some paper towels into "tubes" that will fit down over the spark plug and soak up as much oil as you can. Have all six soaking at the same time. Keep putting in paper tubes until you get it all out.

You can add a little mineral spirits to the last little bit of oil to thin it out and make it more "soakable". No more than a table spoon per well. You can even swish it around the spark plug with a screwdriver tip to help it mix with the oil.

I found all this info on the forum here before i did my 60k and its what I did. These extremes may not be necessary but id rather be safe than sorry.

I didn't really think I should do that, but I figured I'd get a quick repsonce if I said it ;) My dad told me I should just get his tire air compressor, put on his nozzle attachment and wrap a rag around it and the hole and blow the oil into the rag. Sound like an idea?

Oh, and can anyone kinda figure on about how much is gonna cost me to do my upper and front 60k together? I wanna get in the oilpan too, but I don't think I have the time for that unfortunatly. I wanna put some clevite bearings in there for some insurance later.
