Lincoln LS Rims...HELP

I bought some chrome lincoln ls rims for my sho................but...........they just barely don't fit cause the tires hit on the struts! Am I screwed, or is there a way to make them fit? Everybody says they'll fit a SHO, and the lug pattern is okay, but the offset must be different. HELP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'd love to have some spacers! How big of spacers are they? How much? I'll try anything, I know these can work, but I just need to know exactly how.

No need for tires... Check the search feature on this forum, I remember a guy had a set of LS rims/tires for sale, WITH spacers to fit a SHo. Meaning that with spacers they will fit fine... I know a small handful of people on this forum have had or tried the lincoln ls rims on their cars, so it can be done, and I think they'd look sweet... Please post pics when completed, I'm interested to see!

Most of the LS wheels sold by the Tire Rack have a 48mm offset. Compared to a SHOs 42mm (stock) offset that puts the wheel about 1/4" farther in, plus the addition of 1/2 of the wider wheels. That means a 7" wide 48mm offset wheel will be about 3/4" closer to the strut than a slicer. I thought the LS factory wheels had a larger offset than 48mm, maybe a someone has the specs on them. Should be in the Dec 99 Road & Track.

OH you didn't know
I hope you are using the factory "mag" style lug nut on those LS wheels. I tried them on my SHO and did not feel comfortable with them on my car. Should not have to use spacers to "make" wheels fit, potential wheel falling off!

I guess if you used junk spacers and didn't know what you were doing there would be a potential of them falling off, but 5 lugs would have to break all at once for your wheel to fall off. I got by with using a 7/16 spacer and it worked perfectly. They look awesome on my car! It wasn't expensive either. Also, you have to use short shank mag lugnuts for this application. Where there's a will, there's a way............
