I've ordered from superbrightleds.com with great success in the past, check out the wled (Wide angle 5 LEDs). Theyve got illumination bulbs, instrument light bulbs, 194's, etc. I've got blue illumination bulbs and several white instrument lights including turn signals in my SLO.

Looks good :thumb:

I have ordered from them in that past as well. I ordered 14 amber marker lights for the rockers of my truck. I got my money back when they started on fire.

I like the bright white look for sure but I don't think those led's have a wide enough angle and that's why you are getting dim spots which makes it look like you have blown out bulbs.

Yep, unfortunately with LED's there are going to be dim spots. In my experience the 5 WLED (Wide angle LEDs) are the best, again there will be dim spots. Superbrightleds.com also has a 6 WLED and I've read of people using them but you have to file the middle bulb down so they will fit. What'd you use slo-sho? I tend to stick with the 5, as I keep my cluster very dim anyway, I can't stand real bright lights in the car when I'm driving at night. Fire? Damn I haven't heard of their LEDs igniting. And, yes SHOOFF it's just LEDs.

WLED-WHP is the part number from the web site mentioned above. The taurus gauge cluster only uses 5 illumination bulbs which light up pieces of plexiglass to spread the light. It's not perfect, but I love driving at night with the LED's instead of those indiglo gauges.

For those interested in doing this mod all you have to do is sand down the back of the gauge overlay to get rid of the color filter (I used 60 grit). After that it's possible to use any color bulb.

If I were to sand down the color backing and just use a brighter white incandescent, wouldn't that give me the white look with out the dim spots?

I don't think any conventional bulb will produce illumination like an LED. The dim spots aren't as pronounced as my camera makes them out to be, in person it's actually very bright at full intensity.
