leaking onto passenger side exhaust manifold

and is smoking when I stop. I think it might be from the oil pan but I'm not sure? I recently did my rod bearings and I didn't notice any smoke after that, but it appeared after I changed my waterpump.

Also right before my last oil change my check oil light came on and i had way less than a gallon of oil when i changed it.

Just wondering if anyone has advice on where to look/ how to fix this.

if its dripping on your manifold it has to be your valve cover gaskets!

++ Tough for the oil to squirt up from underneath!

I put my gaskets together with the engine out of the car and managed to roll the "rear" (actually the right) gasket. Took it off, applied RTV like I was supposed to and reassembled it properly and now no more leaking (from there...)!

Squirt up? The it's on the cat, which is under the oil pan?

Which gasket are you referring to the oil pan gasket?

haha x2 on that! manifold is you valve covers and cat is probably your oil pan/crank seal!

Only way to tell is to try and source the leak. Are your valve cover gaskets dirty/oily? Check under your car and check for oil drops. If ever I suspect my cars of leaking oil I place a flattened cardboard box under the car and see the next morning where the leak is. My money is on the oil pan gasket.

yes i meant the cat on the passenger side thats under the oil pan. ugh maybe i didnt put the rtv on well enough for it not too leak.

im @ the dmv getting registration n its smokin everywhere so embarassing

i thought thats what it might be at first. when i did my waterpump and moved the PS reservoir out of the way i had it upside down (not knowing theres an airhole on the top) and i spilled all of it everywhere but its continually smoking so i think somethings leaking.

i bought some oil stabilizer to see if itll leak less until i get a chance to work on it

I would just stop driving it until you can find the leak. That much oil dripping on a hot cat is a recipe for disaster.

It could be the camshaft seal leaking over there..... It happened to me!

It's easy to tell if it is the pan gasket. Wipe the pan with a rag really well. Next time the car smokes wipe it again. If it has fresh oil on it it is leaking. It may not be the only leak, but there you go.

i have that same problem. i put the car on a lift running and it seemed to be coming from the crank bearing. Mine was and still is leaking on the cat and smoking when the car is sitting after running. i would say its probably your front main bearing.

It's easy to tell if it is the pan gasket. Wipe the pan with a rag really well. Next time the car smokes wipe it again. If it has fresh oil on it it is leaking. It may not be the only leak, but there you go.

Try this. Clean everything reakky well, then run it on the loft for a few minutes. You should be able to spot where the oil is coming from.

You have narrowed it down to front oil pan seal, cam seal, or front main seal.

i have the same problem, it smokes from the hood when i stop. i have to change my valve cover gasket because the oil drips right onto the cat
