Is the threaded top of the Koni shaft the same size as the oem struts? I have the oem off and ready to put the (used) Koni's into the strut mount and on the car. The oem nut doesn't seem to want to thread on there. Is it a different size?

Yes, it is a different thread pattern then the OEM strut nut. If the Koni's didn't come with a nut, take the cartridge down to a hardware store and find one that bolts up.

For the archives. The nut size is thread pitch 1.50, diameter 14mm, outer hex size 22mm. A big thanks to Sergio. thumb

No. I was going to use the ones that were already done. Now that the rears are installed you're making me rethink that position. What are your thoughts Brian?

I didn't mean to scare you. I'm just a perfectionist with the way I installed my Konis. As long as the bottom nut (holding the inserts in the stut housing) is in tight, you are fine. I would double check, and possibly use blue locktight to be sure.

I'm keeping that in mind. I won't toss the old struts to be sure there are housings around.
