koni adjustable bolt

had a quick question on my konis the bolt fell out of the bottom of the insert holdin it to the strut housing now its clunking and making noise,what size is that bolt? and do i have to totally disassemble the suspension to replace it or can i drop the control arm and pull it out as one unit and then take a punch and move the hole to line up then put a new bolt in and torque it down? i dont have a spring compressor....nor do i want to use autozones

whats the torque on the bolt??

I would think that if you could get things to line up that you could just put another bolt in.......dont know for sure, but that is what I would try.

mmmmm im screwed ROFL im pretty sure got it up at a shop today and yea the insert goes way up into the housing soo unless if im lucky able to get the hole to line up with the insert gonna have to decompress the spring

I'm not sure why the insert would not be bottomed out in the strut housing.

You can get a spring compressor at AutoZoo for free (well, with a deposit).

I think its just a STD 1/2" bolt. Worst case remove one from the other side and see what size it is. And if its not bottomed out get several lengths of the bolt and use stacks of washers to pull it down.

It's M12-1.5 X 25mm, prop class 8.8.

I have spares of this, if you need the bolt and the special Koni cupped washer, PM me, I'll mail you a spare bolt and washer for the postage.

same thing happened to me, 1 week after initial installation. put some loctite or similiar product. i check em every month or so.
