Sweet! Next, you guys can try getting replacement CELO switches. That's the last sensor you just can't get for SHOs.

The CELO sensor really is a pointless sensor if you ask me.

It locks out heater in 'Automatic' until the coolant heats up. But, the only reason you have it in 'Automatic' (at least for me) is when it is hot outside and you want the AC.

So...it just seems pointless.

I've had my SHO for 8 years and 100+k, I don't think I have ever had my climate control in a setting to even see if that sensor works.

It's very helpful for cold weather, if I understand correctly what the switch does.

You turn the temp up and it doesn't start blowing til the coolant warms up, so you don't get freezing cold air blowing at you.

It is my understanding that it doesn't work unless the climate control is in 'Automatic' mode...not just 'vent' for example.

The climate control also has a fan speed, so if you don't want freezing air, you don't get any.

Anyways....it just seems like a pointless sensor to re-create.

No, what seems pointless to me is that you'd get a car with automatic climate control, only to never use it in automatic mode. Having its sensors break isn't an excuse to deride it as useless, you're just using it wrong.

It's the only mode I ever use  I keep it at a constant 65-70. Works well.

No. It is pointless to have it in automatic if it is not hot enough outside to necessitate running the AC. It also saves a bit of gas, and power.
