During the winter when it was real cold, I went to unlock my driver door lock but of course it was froze up I turned the key to hard and it made a pop sound and now spins freely. Did something just disconnect or did I most likely break the lock? Since then ive always used the keypad to unlock the door and sometimes to pop the trunk. The keypad still unlocks the doors but but out of nowhere it wont open the trunk any more. What could cause this?

In regards to the opening the trunk from the keypad, do you hear a click from the trunklid or nothing at all? If you hear a click, spraying the latch with some wd-40 helps. If no click is heard, check your fuses and the wiring that goes to the solenoid inside the trunk lid.

the key tumbler has a small arm on the back that a rod connects to, my guess is the arm snapped off the lock. pull the door panel and have a look takes 10 minutes.

Ok I hear no lick to the trunk solenoid so which fuse should i check??

I really dont want to take the door panel off because my guess is that I wont be able to get it back on.. Is there a place to get new clips to put the door panel back on if I take it off and cant get it back on?

door panels come of easy and go back on easy. if you cant remove a door panel in a SHO you are in a world of trouble, there are hundreds of things you will have to do over time to the SHO that are alot harder then a simple door panel. i had to pull the door panel on bandito within 1 day of having him home to fix the drivers door lock, the rivot that held the popper to the door had broke, took me 10 minutes start to finish. as far as the trunk , im not sure if the popper has its own fuse or not, try unplugging the popper wire and have some one test for 12 volts at the wires while you pop it from the key pad, if there is volts the popper is shot.

if you have a keyless remote, try to pop the trunk from that. have a you tried the pop it from the key pad a few times on the same occasion. there are times when i havent been able to get mine to go, but i think that i just press a wrong button. it doesnt matter because i have an alarm. when i dissarm, it unlocks. i can pop the trunk from the remote, or a i can open the door and use the mechanical trunk pop. so i never try it twice...

the door panel can give off a bit of a fight, and you should be carefully not to pull so hard in one spot, or you could crack and break the old plastic. but it is only 2 screws and a dozen christmas trees holding the thing on. you can buy new christmas trees at most major parts stores in the 'help' section, or autobody.
