Mental Patient
That's right....my left knee is telling me that it's getting tired of working a clutch. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....
The car's a 95 MTX..chassis' got 193,*** on it...rust free...half red, half black (could probably be recoated, but it's spray paint). Here goes....
this'll all be done by the time I'm ready to get rid of it..
3.2 swap with 3.0 cams
fresh clutch
SHONut Ceramic TOB
new rear main
73mm MAF
Doug Lewis burned Superchip
FPS reinforced front and rear motor mounts
hand ported intake manifold
new plugs (motorcraft double platinums)
30k on Motorcraft spark plug wires
A/C delete with gutted compressor on engine bracket
underdrive pulleys on power steering and waterpump
new water pump
25k timing belt and tensioner
96+ brakes (will be done this week, so they'll be new)
16x7 Hot Wheels Redlines with 225/55-16 Kelly Chargers that could stand to be replaced
20k on the rear brakes with new calipers, pads and rotors...replaced the rear brake lines at the same time
aluminum subframe bushings in front...oem in rear, but still good
Fishtank mod
foglight mod
taillight mod
Jose SHOrtened Shifter (see group buy currently going on)
custom 2.5" crush bent y-pipe back exhaust with a single flowmaster 40 series and single out tail pipe
gutted cats
Pioneer head unit
Boston Pro SL-60 component door speakers
Pioneer 3 way coax's in the rear
will include a JL 6W0 in the stock enclosure modded with a tuned port
eibach springs with new OEM struts (doesn't ride harsh at all)
steel sway bar end links up front
Walbro 155lph fuel pump
New heater core last year
Them hot ass reverse glow guages
New radiator about 2 years ago
Tranny's drilled and tapped with a drain plug in place, and filled with B&M Trick Shift fluid.
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Now on to the not-so-good....
it's half spray painted black...looks hot from about 20 feet away, but up close, you can see some inconsistancies
A/C completely inop...only thing left of it's a gutted compressor and the button on the EATC
The knee impact panel under the steering wheel is missing since not all the parts were put back in when the heater core was swapped
Dash has a few small cracks from being disassembled in single digit temps last winter
driver's seat has a tear on the seam by the bolster
needs a new dash panel (the part around the guages and EATC)...might replace this before deal is made.
parking brake likes to stick...so I don't use it.
windshield has a pretty good crack in it from a pinecone falling on it a few years back...I just don't care, cuz it doesn't bother my field of vision
some dubious pile of shit backed into me New Year's eve of 2006/2007 and give me a nice groove on the left front corner. I replaced the light and put a band aid over the dent.
Driver's seat bolster air holding thingies got a hole in it on the one near the door that I haven't gotten around to patching/fixing yet.
This car would make a perfect track slut. It's a stripper SHO as it is. It didn't come with ANY options; no power passenger seat, no full leather, no JBL sound, no moonroof, no keyless entry, smaller gas tank etc). It weighed in at 3480 with my 250lb ass in the driver's seat, a sub box in the trunk and 1/2 a tank of gas. With the current 3.0, i've run a best of 15.49@98mph with some SEVERE traction issues (thanks Knoll Gas Raceway).
For what it's worth, last summer, I took a trip from St. Joe, MI down to Greenville, SC with 3 other people in the car and a trunk full of luggage. The car averaged 32mpg with the windows down and the cruise set at 78. my last tank of gas (mostly city with some highway) got me 26mpg. I would not hesitate at all to jump in the car and drive anywhere in the U.S. or canada.....that is, after the engine swap, as the current engine has a bad rod bearing.
What i'm lookin to do, if anyone's interested, is a straight up swap for a welded gen III. I'm not too choosy on the color, as I like ALL gen III colors, but I don't want some rusty pile O shit that's gonna puke it's transmission three weeks after I get it.
Now, there's a chance that once I get this 3.2 swap done, my knee'll go back to loving a stick again. it all remains to be seen. but in the meantime, I'd like to check my options.
So...anyone got anything?
