Is there any way to get out small little rust bubbles?

The best thing you can do is grind it down with a sanding bit of some sort, throw some rust inhibitor on it like that "naval jelly" stuff, then paint over it. It tends to come back though. Ive done this to the same rust spot 3 times and it still comes back for more!

Hey u will probably laugh but I used a sawzall on my rear fenderwell so I could fit these rims on. They guy I bought them from had them on his SHO and he said I didn't have to trim anything. Well all I can say is it was an experience.

Oh and about the rust I don't think naval jelly works I used it on the rust spots before I repainted the car and I wasn't real impressed. I would just grind as much of the rust off as possible (Dremel??) and then touch it up.

I had rust all along the doors above the molding. I took a 3M paint removal wheel on my 1/2" VSR drill and ground the paint away. I then swapped the paint wheel for a wire wheel and got the rust down so it was pitted deeply and all loose flakes were off and shiny metal. I then took a light film of bondo and spread it over, just filling the little pits. Primed with Rustoleum auto primer, and did 5 top coats of oxford white from plasticote and then 3 coats of clearcoat, with 1000 or 1500 grit wet sanding in between every coat, and finishing it up with a 2000grit wet pass onto the final coat.

QikSHO - What year did he have? The flares are different year by year, and he may not have had to trim. the 94 / 95 flares are the widest. Luckily, I did not have to trim the flares for my 17x7 / 235/45-17 wheels & tires.

They may look like little bubbles, but i guarentee it`s alot larger.I had the same thing, small bubbles in the paint about 1 inch or so.It ended up needing about a 6X15" section cut out on both sides in the rear.To do it right, you need to remove a larger area to get out all the bad metal.

I detail cars and there is a process called claying. You' have to order green clay from a professional distrubutor for aboutr 12 bucks. I clayed a car with rust over the wheel wells and it took it off. I"m not positive it was rust, but if it was, it worked well. Good luck

Rubbing compound will do the same thing.Rust will tend to "bleed" onto the paint, but can be removed.I think he`s talking about bubbles in the paint that are caused by rust/rot underneath.

GEN I flares just blow, plain and simple. My Goodrich VR4's would rub, and they were only 225's! I took a 4" angle grinder with a cut off wheel and cut as close to the edge as I could. Then took off the cut-off wheel and put the grinding one on and ground it uniform. Then I put a small weld along the seam to reseal it, since they are two separate sections.

Fred he had the rims on his 90. Same size tires and everything. They had to rub unless someone trimed the sides before he got the car. Anyway I am a little reluctant to buy 16 or 17 inch rims because car rides so rough the way it is.
