is there a step by step guide to replacing o2 sensors?

I was just wondering if there is a step by step guide anywhere to replacing the two o2 sensors on my '94 ATX.

I am pulling KOEO codes 172, 176 and 177. I am not pulling any codes with KOER.

I don't know if I should be getting codes with KOER, but i have tested 3 seperate times and show nothing.

ATX have proved to be a pain.. you shouldnt need a guide to do them... find a wrench that fits the sensor and take it off...

then replace...

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed, as I had no idea even where to look for these.... an pictures to boot... wooo hooo! I didnt even know what they looked like.

Now any recommendations on which ones are best to buy?

this o2 sensor socket is a great help taking the front o2 out because somethings in the way to get the regular socket on the sensor. not sure whats in the way because i did it with the car on the ground in the parts store parking lot

But was actually wondering which brand of o2 sensors are best to buy?

although everyone here biotches about them... i replaced mine and have had no issues... and passed emissions awhile back

That's what i was thinking. Sorry to be such a pain, but really appreciate all of the help. Now obviosuly there are different lengths in wiring harnesses. I don't want to get them too long, though I know I can tie em up, but to replace the two, which of the three sizes should i go with? The 8.5 inch, the 13 inch or the 16.5 inch?

8.5 and 13

8.5 in the front... 13 in the back

FWIW i have two 13" like you said... i just tied the front one up... 8.5 is more than enough for the front.

Okay all done! The rear sensor was a little difficult to get back on, but all in all it was much easier than I thought it would be for a green guy like myself. And the socket tool that was recommended, definitely a must. Though I did have to buy a 1/2 inch ratchet and extension to work with the socket. Thanks for all of the assistance. BTW no more codes!
