Hello,
Now that I've made a few posts already, it's time to introduce myself. My username is my real name, and I am the proud owner of two Taurii. One's a 1996 Ford Taurus GL and the other is a 1992 Ford Taurus SHO that I got a couple months ago from my brother (92DOHCSHO on here)
The 1996 is white with gray velour interior (new carpet, new steering column, misc. other work done), and the SHO is Emerald Green metallic with mocha tan interior.
Anyways, here's some photos of my fleet.
The interior. The driver's seat is shot, and the dashboard is missing its vent slots now.
The engine of it. These above photos were photographed the day my brother bought it.
The SHO photographed with my white '96.
With the intake plenum off. The back valve cover was black with road dirt and oil deposits before I shot it with Engine Brite. I let the Engine Brite sit for ten minutes, reshot it, and took a rag to the works. After doing a final rinse with Engine Brite, I used a hose and a clean rag to wipe up the works. I then took the plug boots out and shot water down the plug wells to flush the oil and water that had built up in there over time. After that, I quickly wadded up a few sheets of paper towels and stuck them in there to wick out the remaining water, then let it sit for an hour to dry (did this during a near 100-degree day). Did a final wipe with a paper towel soaked in Engine Brite, then a wipeover with one soaked in soapy water, then did the underside of the intake plenum, then reinstalled the works.
A unique photo I took of the intake plenum. Hadn't seen the intake photographed like this before, so I decided "why not?"
These are photos I took after I detailed the engine of the SHO, coupled with a series of "Before" shots taken under nearly identical conditions.
And the other angle. The "before" photos were taken the same day I took the photo of the SHO next to my white '96.
And a couple more for good measure, taken of the engine of the SHO under various lighting conditions and angle variations.
I've owned two other Taurii in my life, too. Both '89 models. One an LX, the other a GL. The LX was dark titanium with a gray interior and had a moonroof. The GL was light blue metallic and had a dark blue interior with green trim.
Also have owned three Tempos, two F-150 trucks, and a '76 Ford Granada.
