I sometimes drive my vehicle in the daytime with the headlights on for "safety" reasons and it is hard to see the readout of the clock/EATC. Is there a way to turn off the instrument panel lights with the headlights turned on?
Thanks.

How about using a DRL module with a switch on it so that you can only use them when you want to instead of all the time?

I thought of that and it is a great idea but I need a DRL module....My SHO was imported into Canada from the US and does not have the DRL module.

All Gen 2 SHO's have provisions in the forward lighting harness (under the hood) for a daytime running lamp module. Vehicles shipped outside of Canada had a jumper installed instead of the module. The jumper can be unplugged and module can be plugged right in it's place. I'm not sure of the best place to pick up a module, but most Ford vehicles with DRL used the same module.

Seeing as the radio/EATC lights receive a reduced voltage when the headlights are on, it would be simpler, cheaper and easier to just wire in a toggle switch to give the affected light circuits the full 12Vs when you want it.

it's a pain in the butt to trace that "wire." The power actually is switched at the headlamp relay.

Solid Brown wire located at the top of the headlamp switch pigtail. I've put a switch on this wire myself...for those stealth mode getaway situations. :D
