Ok, so... I drive a 1993 ATX.
I was driving to work the other day when my car started running rough. I got a little farther down the road and the car shut off and wouldn't restart. Opened the hood and looked at the timing (no timing cover). The timing belt idler pulley is gone. I can't find another one.
I did, however, find a wrecked 1992 or 1993 (not entirely sure which) MTX. Is there any part on this that would function for the idler? I'm not sure if the MTX even has a part equal to this one.
Help!
I did a search and didn't come up with anything....

Don't think they are the same, though I don't know ATXs much. Searcht the forum - much has been posted about idler pulleys...

But is the idler pulley the real problem? Probably needs further diagnosis...

Oh yeah. Definately the idler pulley. We replaced the timing belt the day before and for some reason removed it. I know we put it back (bolted it in myself), but I don't think we torqued it down well.
