Sorta cares
Or at least it sure sounds like it when I try to turn my steering wheel. It makes a fairly loud dolphin-like rubbing noise (I'm serious here), and it's coming from the passenger tire well. It only does it occasionally, but when it's doing it, it squeaks with every little turn. I haven't been able to isolate it to any one component. I want to think tie rod end, because inside the car it sounds like it's coming from the steering column (thus indicating the sound is traveling up the rack and column) but a friend of mine at AAP (who does actually know cars) suggests that it's usually an LCA when it makes that noise. I don't have money to go shotgunning the tire well and I seriously can't tell where it's coming from.
Does anybody have a clue? Please, I want to **** this damn dolphin already!
p.s. same dude said 'don't ever turn the wheels when the car's in the air cos ford racks will get air in them'. He's a chevy guy; is he just ******** or is this true? I think former but I figured I'd ask.
