I can't say enough about HyperCoat. Mike D powdercoated my valve covers a few months ago, and just received and installed my intake this afternoon. I had mentioned in an earlier post that the coating quality is top notch, but HyperCoat's attention to detail is quite amazing. Not only was my intake coated, but it was shipped to me completely assembled (minus the throttle body) with all gaskets installed and all bolts torqued! He also included the set of intake gaskets in with the kit. This saved me a ton of time by not having to assamble anything. I simply loosened the rubber connectors and installed it. It was that easy. I can't wait to post some pics. Words can't describe how cool this thing looks. I could not appreciate the beauty of it until it sat atop my engine. The silver surge tanks and the translucent green runners look wicked.

My car is now oficially named MEDUSA. With the green snakes atop the motor, and the fact that everytime I open the hood my wallet turns to stone, the name fits! :D

I will post pics soon!

Does it have to be metal parts? I was thinking of painting the appearance cover on my Gen III, but I know that I wouldn't do nearly as nice of a job doing it myself. As far as I know, the appearance cover is plastic.

It`s only for metal. It is sprayed on dry in a powder, then baked which liquifies it to a hard shell.

Do they clean and degrease the whole intake? Mine is pretty nasty on the inside! Or do they just worry about the outside? It looks pretty sweet, I hope mine will look that good!

Mike cleans and degreases both the inside and out. I have never seen the inside of a SHO intake that clean in my life, with the exception of SDPATT's! wink

The intake horns inside were so clean that they sparkled. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

I could not be happier.

Mike D wouldn't send ANYTHING that isn't top notch quality. If I ever have anything powdercoated, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Yes it does look like chrome when you see it up close. It doesn't necessarily have the extreme brightness that chrome has, but it is much more temperature stable and doesn't get that purpling that chrome does at high temps..good stuff...
