Want to tune, however must say a little nervous. Definitely going with Livernois but wanna know if the hurricane pkg is good how reliable, how many have it. Is it the best for the money ? Also looking for ease when I have to go to the dealer. I can switch sensors back and forth go back to stock tune as well but can the dealer tell if u have a cooler T stat and the different plugs ? That’s why I’m thinking Hurricane pkg. or level 1 performance pkg ???

I apologize for the title of this thread. It’s a very serious thing was not meant to make fun of a tragic event like a hurricane. Dint think if it at the time. Really sorry if anybody is affected by this. Truly apologize !

They're never going to catch the T stat. 3 bar map=1 screw and not much more involved with the air cleaner and re-flash back to stock tune. If you're motivated, probably 30 min start to finish.

This is why I will wait till warranty expiration. Sometimes it might not be so easy to prep the car for dealer service. Lets say it breaks down on the interstate and needs to be towed.

Then keep it simple and do a thermostat, 3-bar and tune (what I've done). If you're that worried about breaking down, keep the tuner and 2-bar in the glovebox/trunk should you need it.

I ran into exactly this when my PTU exploded on vacation. I keep the tuner in the glove-box and put it back to stock before it was towed to the dealer. I also keep a torx driver for the map sensor.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks

To answer your question about is LMS the best for the money? Any tune you run from whoever you choose, you run the risk of something going wrong. However, LMS is one of the safest tunes out there and they do perform.

You didn’t have any issues with warranty after ptu failed?

Really jealous of you guys with tuners. It just makes me nervous if they start looking for it. When you reflash, it will set the P1000 code until you have enough drive cycles to repopulate the KAM and clear the code, won’t it? I know that was an issue back in the days with my diesel.

No issues at all. PTU and transmission case replaced under powertrain warranty.

As far as a code after flashing I'm unaware of it. But then again I check codes and clear after flash with my tuner or my Aeroforce gauges. Don't ever remember seeing that one.

But do not store your tuner in the spare wheel well if you ever need to leave it at the dealer. Take it with you.
I have a small electronics case with dividers I keep the tuner, wifi OBD reader, stock 2 bar MAP, etc in so I can easily take it out of the car.
