I need either the hub, bearing or both replaced in the front pass. side. I was wondering how difficult is this to do and do you need any special tools to perform it. Could I also have a detailed write up please if possible. Thanks a lot in advance.

Speedy,

With car on the ground, remove axel nut with 30mm socket. Turn nut arround so flat side is "out". Place on the axel so that the threads are protected and tap axel inward so it is loose in the hub.

Put vehicle up on jack stands and remove wheel, brake caliper, and disk. Loosen bolt that holds the strut to the steering knuckle. You may have to heat it. Remove pinch bolt that "pinches" steering knuckle to the ball joint stud.

Use either a pry bar, or a bottle jack to push down on the lower control arm and extract the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle. Remove the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.

Hold the axel and pull out on the steering knuckle so as to extract the axel end from the hub/steering knuckle. Now remove the steering knuckle from the strut.

Take the steering knuckle to an auto parts store and have the hub pressed out of the bearing, and the bearing pressed out of the steering knuckle.

Have a new hub and bearing pressed in.

Put it all back together with a new pinch bolt and pinch bolt nut, and a new axel nut. Use a new cotter pin on the tie rod end.

Replacing front wheel bearings are like an equasion, that is what you do to one side you must do to the other, IMHO.

Not that hard to do if you like to play with big chassis parts. I've done several lately. You may be better off getting complete spindles from a 94 or 95. With those you can keep 15" wheels (if that's what you have) and it's the foundation for a later full 96 upgrade.
