how to remove struts

i was wondering how hard it would be to remove struts from a 91 sho. would i need an airgun or any other special tools and if not how hard a job is it.

Beware the pinch bolts in the rear. They are smaller thaan the front and will break easily. Spray PB blaster daily on them for a week before you try to remove them. Heat will help at the time of removal. If you snap off it's drill out time.

The front ones are fairly easy to do in comparison to the back--take out pinch bolts I used heat on every one as I had broken one before in my older sho. remove top three bolts and end links. Be ready to buy new enlinks if they are original and you are in a salt area--they can't be heated because of the rubber boots on them. The rears are a big pain because the top bolts that hold them are so hard to get at(it took me more time to get the bolts out then to do the front struts!) Once they are out just compress the springs and remove the old struts. Not the funnest job but rewarding when they are done.
I think the sockets and wrenches needed were 13mm, 18mm, 21mm.
