Just curious if anyone has a credible source or can at least recommend where to pick up a set of chrome gen III wheels for my 97' SHO? I suppose that a scrapyard is one place? I've checked out ebay occasionally but haven't run across any being sold at those times.

Also what type of prices should I be expecting? Thanks for any input.

Wheel on over to Ebay!

I'd say Ebay is the best route. I see them on there all the time. Expect to pay between $150 - $200 for used and about $500-$800 new.

Well on my jaunt to work I noticed a Gen III SHO with chrome wheels and some front end damage at a salvage yard. I called up the owner and he quoted me that if the wheels are in good condition they are worth about $150 each & could probably sell me the set for about $450.

What is everybody's impressions of that price? I was thinking about seeing if I could cut a deal that involved the wheels, tires, keyfob, & floors mats.

I'm also kinda curious as to what everything I just mentioned might be worth and what the tires themselves would be worth? Still no clue on what brand/model the tires are in nor the condition.

$450 is way too high, IMO. I wouldn't pay more than $200 unless they were flawless 1996 wheels (better quality than the 97+ wheels).

I agree. If the wheels are flawless and have no chrome peeling whatsoever, then $400 is a fair price. Otherwise, they are worth around $200-$300 for the set, BUT don't waste your time or $$$ if there is a lot of chrome peeling on the inside of and of the wheels, as it will eventually cause problems at the bead seat and you'll constantly be adding air. Little chips and peels on the inside can be corrected with a little periodic effort, but big chunks of chrome peeling off are a sign of trouble to avoid.
