While removing the front y-pipe today, I found that the flared edge of the resonator (the part that mates with the donut gasket) has partially disintegrated. I'd like to remove the resonator so I can take just that section to an exhaust shop.

I loosened the clamp at the rear of the resonator, but I can't get it separated from the rear y-pipe. I tried using penetrating oil, a torch, and a pipe wrench, to no avail. Any ideas?

TIA,

I managed to get my resonator separated from the rear y-pipe with some WD-40, a few choice words and a lot of tugging and yanking. The pipes are fit together quite tightly, and very difficult to get leverage on when you're on your back.
