How big of exhaust tubing

Just curious on how big of exhaust tubing we can get away with. Would like to replace the pipe from flex pipe back to the where is splits to go to the mufflers. I'm thinking about 3", just wondering if anyone has tried it.

3" would be waaaaay overkill for the V8. I personally wouldn't go bigger than 2.5", and that's a stretch. Stick with 2.25".

Had 3" on mine before and after the supercharger install. Actually helped with the forced induction it seemed and sounded wicked but like SuperHO said, overkill indeed.

I used 3" in mine but kept the factory mid pipe where it bends. Went single exhaust too. Had to change the MAF tables to make it work right.
