I am currently tearing ddwn teh front end of my car to do a lower half 60k and am taking all the brackets out so I can work on it all. I got the botom braket off with some consternation and the top dampener bracket finally came loose also but the body bracket that the dampener bracket attatches to is still on there I got the top 2 nut off but teh bottom nut was so tight it spun the damn riveted stud. so now the thing jjust spins when turning it. I tryed to grab the back side with a pair of pliars but the flat round back is to small and to difficult to grab in the strut well. any one have a suggestion on how to get this off. I was thinging of bying or borrowig a nut spitter and replacing the whole thing with a bolt with a back end on it.

also I was going to change the water pump but found some4 paper work that shows that he had the dealer change it 2 years ago before I bought this car. should I replace it again while I'm there? I bought a A1 cardone replacment part.
damn dealer explains why all the bolts were way over torqued.

A nut splitter could work or you could drill the stud out or use a dremel and a few of those small cutting wheels.
